assuming that 'wedding' is a human ceremony, whereas 'marriage' is a divine ceremony, here the focus is more on the commitment than the wedding, of the woman to one man, and a man to whom the woman gives her loyalty and devotion is her husband already by nature of god and not so much based on the wedding conducted by human beings. hence, i think a chaste woman is a pativrata.
