i know that he is a professor at osmania university and i DO adore his feelings towards the oppressed. But for any cause, there will be a discrete and definitive way to tackle the issue. for that people have been strugging since the past and also in the present. But being a professor (taking his knowledge into consideration), and being fighting for a cause, he should not fall prey to social evils like regionalism or politics. Before he says anything about any caste, he should have had learnt about that a little before.
Another thing before that ppl should ask themselves WHO EXACTLY ARE THE OPPRESSED IN THE PRESENT DAY SOCIETY ? Not just people of telangana are oppressed and not just people of a particular caste are oppressed, oppression is present everywhere. we have to identify the cause for oppression. in this path, if we comment on a particular caste or region, we have to learn a lot about them.

(My candidature in the Osmania University for the P.Hd Admission, was thrown in to the dust bin, as there was an informal aggrement among the faculty members not to admit Andhra People. I contacted then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidi. He forward my letter to the Registrar. But in mean time, I joined the Press and failed to give feedback to the issue).HE IS VERY GOOD IN SOME AREAS, BUT FAILED TO ELEVATE HIMSELF FROM THE REGIONAL FEELINGS. But it's not his mistake as Osmania University atmosphere is like that!

Kancha Ilaiah is Professor in Osmania University. He always tries to highlight the plight of OBCs, sometimes writes against the Caste System and even targets Mythological Pantheon. For the rightwing people, this attitude is distasteful. But for whatever the opinion expressed by him either in the English Press(Once in The Hindu, now in Deccan Herald), has a readership in India.
