The new came in today's paper in details in "Times of India , Mumbai edition.In brief
Bhopal:On Fridayv the state government finally gave an official explanation about the attack on Mrs Shakuntala verma, a socialactvist and the Woman supervisor of the women and child welfare Department.(see not only an social actvist but also govt employee)
Verma was attacked in her house on wednesday.The attacker chopped off one hand and partially severed the other.The expalnation given is that verma was attacked because she was involved in the government's intensive campaign to educate the masses against child marriages.

VeVa boi, if you think Mrs Varma was innocent, and she was cruelly injured for no fault of hers, then cutting off power, food supplies and water for a period of time would do the same thing to those villagers who are innocent.
If the villagers actions were justified(I don't know how anyone can justify cutting off arms though) because of some measures that Mrs Varma would have done, should the government cut you off from food, water etc for suggesting this?
