Just imagine, even if at all there is ten percent corruption in that huge Rs.5,60,000 Crore of that project. It amounts to 56000 Crore rupees!

If any Govt, let it be center or state, have the sincerity in doing good to public, they can do wonders.
I totally agree with Malak. If that is the case, why any govt have so many number of monkeys, when they totally depend on IAS officers and technical people? Politics. So, this may not work out Malak ji!

Well Even the state Govts have lots of work force employed for Irrigation project s.. just shift them to Center ..
Everything remains the same .. the process, the work force and the principles ...
except that the contol will be with one the Prime Minister / irrigation minister, instead of 22 Monkeys at the state level.
Even now .. even for a SMALL DAM .. The central Water Authority should give its approval to the state Govt .. No state govt can construct a dam without approval from Central Govt .. ( Thats one of the reason Govt Ap could not construct addition dams onm Godavari River, even though the waterz being wasted)
So why not take the total control of water resources instead of indirectly controlling them?

Central govt taking the control almost difficult.
because
1) central govt has o manage the water projects.
2) cg has to be employer of water authority.
3) for every bridge , canal etc.. state govt has get approval from cg. It needs lots of additional work force. It is too much of over head.
4) all the water natural disasters reponsibilities has to be taken by CG.
etc...

Not Just water ..I feel .. any sensitive thing that invloves 2,3 or more states must come under the central govt's jurisdiction
