Castesim---Among NRI's
or
Castesim----Among Americans.
Castesim is mostly based on WEALTH(unequal distribution of wealth),Then on foodhabits, way of living, education, and least on morals.
Punjab has no ST's and SC's .

When the children dont even care for their parents, where is the question of them being influenced by the parents?
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 21, Jan 2006 4:17:08 AM IST Sorry Keerty! I may not agree with you as I have not observed any parents who do not take care of their children. I find affection among the family members both in USA and Canada.
Posted by: Mr. VIRABHADRA SASTRI KALANADHABHATTA At: 20, Jan 2006 3:07:46 PM IST As far as I observed during my stay both in USA and Canada, I think there is no such caste feeling among the younger generation (below 25 years age group). I feel they do not bother much about the caste as they are brought up in Western Culture and especially our telugu youth gradually forgetting our traditions and literature except for any functions, and there too seldom appear in our traditional attire.
More over as I observed in many cases there is no influence of parents on these youngsters for such caste feeling.
Sorry, if my opinion hurts any body, but it is what I feel. Finally I think after a decade they may forget the word caste.

I couldnt see beyond Hyderabadee's message when I opened this thread last time and assumed Hyderabadee started it. I take my words back .. sorry about it and have my apologies
Lemme now go thru the other posts and get back :))
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 20, Jan 2006 12:18:10 PM IST People do get pleasure in finding fault with anything related to Hinduism.
It is about the casteism feeling which exists among indians in USA.
------------------------------------------
Hyderabadee hasnt mentioned it. The thread just says "Casteism - even in USA". It doesnt mean it is only about the castseism among the Hindus living in the USA

Good topic
One should respect his or her own caste, religion but should not hate the others
hatered towards others castes, religion should not grow and should not give a chance to grow in mind as far as our own interests in limits undistyrbed
