I was really suprised to see the responses here, Its true that girls do get positive responces. But how many, is the question? The bare facts say that its not more than mere 5-10% who are lucky enough to be born in elite families and all the circumstances prove favourably;like understanding parents and society; both of which, in Indian circles, as you might have know, proven to be against girls/woman. :-) well, this may seem to be a pessimistic kinda thinking though I believe it is fact. Coming to the responces made, 1)regarding women fighting for themselves: True its the responsibility of a women to take the initial step, but how many have that capability????????? realising the fact that very few are allowed to get education; without which basic thinking is not that easy, considering the fact that very few are lucky to be taught to be bold (the large part of society expects a girl to listen to what her father or husbands says and is taught the same way from the childhood) and many more to mention.......... I dont mean that the society or the men are fully responsible for the present situation but its a plea for you all to think about this in a broader sense and pledge that you dont be one of the people who dont like seeing both genders equally. DOnt again say thats not happenign; if you have time to think, you know how a husband tries to dominate over wife or hwo a guy tries to excersise his will over a classmate just because he has things in his favour or a father thinks when things like money etc etc are in crisis. There are many examples to quote. 2)regarding the need for recognition, well, its an ideal attribute if a person can work well without any recognition or praise; hope everyone reaches to that level but alas very very very few people do reach that state. :-) Ofcourse, when there isn't any recognition people idealisticly should try to do there work efficienty which is very rare to be possible. That also doesn't mean that one have to get depressed if it weren't. so, whats conclusion? lets try to be sensible enough to recongnise people (to what ever gender they may belong to) if they worth recognition. so that no one will fall prey of the depression caused as a result of no recognition. offfff!~ lot of peace makign suggestions....:-)

the question is not clear. However assuming that the women are under previliged in India, my answer would be........ "In my humble opnion, I dont think they are under treated, rather the women are allowing men to treat them like that considering the traditional restrictions. We knew that this is social evil...and nobody is trying to eradicate. Why u women are not coming out and fight against it??? Unless u take initial step, no body follows it. Remember,by doing that u r not comitting any mistake!! Cheers
