Eventhough I am not from Kakinada, but my father studied in PR College and 25 yrs later my wife studied in the same college. I remember PINDALA Cherruvu, Anand Theater.
I emigrated to US and now in NJ, working for Feds in MD.

Hello I was born in kakinada in 1953 in a house in Dantuvari Street. I studied only a couple of years in PR High School. Later finished my SSLC and PUC in Vijayawada and Graduation in Guntur Dt. I worked in different Banks for many years in Kakinada. Emigrated to the USA and now living in Maryland USA.

Born in Kakinada in 1937 (Cocanada then) and lived on Pindiprolu Vari Street (behind Government General Hospital and near Balaji Cheruvu then) until 1959. Studied in Frazerpeta Municipal Elementary School, P.R.C. High School (SSLC 1952), P.R. College (Inter MPC A section, 1954), and Govt College of Engineering (B.E. Civil, 1958) all in Kakinada. Worked as Lecturer in Civil Engineering in Andhra Polytechnic Kakinada (1958-59), Proddatur Polytechnic (1959-62), and Govt College of Engineering Anantapur (1962-69). After receiving Master in City Planning (MCP) from IIT Khragpur in 1968, I came to University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA for higher studies. I received MS and Ph.D degrees in Traffic and Transportation Engineering in USA. Settled in USA since 1969.
I would like to communicate with any of my classmates in Kakinada whether they are in India or anywhere. I frequently visit Kakinada.

Iam happy to read the positings here, talking about Kakinada.I love Kakinada very much. Its not only my birthplace, but also the amazing place that gave me many Invaluable memories too.
I can enjoy every moment just being there, hope you too.
We own a house in Suresh nagar,behind JNTU but parents moved to an apartment close to Janmabhoomi park, to stay closer to shops & other facilities.
I am working in USA, visited KKD recently, stayed with parents for about 2 months,enjoyed visiting all most all of my favorite Streets, shops, friends, temples, and what not (including, tasting Pidatha kandi papu near Gandhi nagar park & Kotaih Kaja). Though some may see the missing quality & taste, yet I just love to eat it & enjoy it. Sometimes, I findmyself emotional & sentimental but I still love feeling that way. Its something cant be expressed, to be felt.
I've seen quite a good change in Bhanugudi center, Kakinada Town railway station, Bus stand, Kulayi cheruvu area, BalajiCheruvu (TTD Kalyana Mandapam center), Gandhi Nagar, and many other places.
- I 've seen movies in both multiplex theatres as well as other regular theatres (including Kamalveer & mayuri) .
- I've visited relatives in town, as well as near by villages (Does anybody know KARAPA, which is about 8km from Jagannaikpur. It is one of my best favorite places, its my grand mother's place actually). I enjoyed spending couple of hours with farmers in my uncle's agricultural lands there
Also,Pongal festival.... especially "Bhogi". I had a doubt in mind whether Bhogi will be celebrated anymore at my grand maa's place, but they are still doing that, and I am so happy about it.
- I've tasted spicy foods in local restaurants as well as roadside
- Enjoyed annual Exhibition (though it was organized in a very congested area this time, yet I had great fun riding giant wheel, etc.I took about 8 kids (relatives' kids) with me, and asked them to enjoy to full extent, the way I used to do in my childhood :) It was great fun!!
- There is new bridge under construction opp to bus stand (over the train tracks there) 80% completed
- Sai Baba temple near Fruit market (a.k.a Main market area)is heavily crowded as usually.
Hmm.. what not..I could nt believe that the 2 months time got over very quick, and I returned my home. I feel like I had a BIGGG dream.
Now,I am back to my work ...a 'routine' work.
