| Meeting to discuss Drinking Water Issues –in Several Districts of Andhra Pradesh
Message to the Concerned: A meeting of all those concerned is planned at 11925 Reston Regional Library, Bowman Towne Dr, Reston, VA 20190-3311
on 2nd March (3:00 – 6:00 PM) – RSVP is appreciated to discuss availability of Drinking Water in several districts in Andhra Pradesh.
This meeting is to highlight the plight of these areas and conditions in which people live. Mr. Upendra Chivukula, NJ State Assemblyman has visited a few places in Andhra Pradesh first hand and will share his experiences with the Audience.
Background: Several decades have passed with activism and politics as usual with no end in sight for the plight of people who do not have a safe and sufficient drinking water supply. It sometimes seems that all that is accomplished is crushed hopes and missed targets for completion of any water supply schemes. The ground reality is that there are millions of people with no safe water to drink in their reach. The puny schemes the government schemes up sometimes become even more punitive. They are most often either temporary fixes or no solutions at all addressing the real problem. People are walking kilometers to get one pot of water to drink is not uncommon in several districts of Andhra Pradesh. Even then most do not know whether it is safe or not, free from the slow poison of Fluoride or not.
Fluoride Problem:
Naturally available water is significantly below the drinking water standards in most places. Broken Promises and a ton of red tape is what left behind for people – who are gullible enough to believe the same people again and again. We categorically demand a permanent solution for all people who are suffering with Fluoride Problem. Please visit www.ataw.org to some of the effects on people with this problem.
