General Forum: Offbeat n Jokes | Who will win the World Cup | |
| good guess and hope.. we will get the cup...its true....
Posted by: Rajesh At: 14, Mar 2003 5:13:52 AM IST The winners of WORLD CUP are :
WEST INDIES 1975
WEST INDIES 1979
INDIA 1983
AUSTRALIA 1987
PAKISTAN 1992
SRI LANKA 1996
AUSTRALIA 1999
Out of the above W/Indies & Pakistan are out of fray. That leaves
India,
Australia & Sri Lanka. Now Australia has won the Cup twice 1987 &
1999.
The total of these years (1987+1999) is 3986. and if India or S/Lanka has
to win the Cup second time then they should match the total of 3986 (as of Australia) Let us see who matches. ( Other qualifiers don't stand a chance in this calculation since they have never won it earlier. )
Sri Lanka 1996 + 2003 = 3996
India 1983 + 2003 = 3986 (Point No 1 )
Given the pervious record of world cup, NO team has won against a particular team twice in succession in a single world cup. ( In
1983 India beat W/I in the first encounter, lost the 2nd & finally won the Final's.
Also in 1992 England almost defeated Pakistan who were 74 all out but the same pakistan team defeated England in the finals. And going by this theory India has lost to Australia in the present World Cup and it is India's turn to win against
Australia in the Finals (Point No 2)
Note:
This Theory was also applied during world cup Football matches and the answer showed BRAZIL as WINNERS and the rest is for the record books to confirm.
3 Reasons why India will get the World Cup..
Reason 1: Captain of winning teams
1979 - Captain - Clive Lloyd -Left Hander
1983 - Captain -Kapil Dev -Right Hander
1987 - Captain - Border -Left Hander
1992 - Captain -Imran Khan -Right Hander
1996 - Captain - Ranatunga -Left Hander
1999 - Captain - Steve Waugh -Right Hander
2003 -- Is he going to be a left
Hander again ?? ?
Is it Jayasurya or Fleming or Ganguly...? ??
Yet another reason to say CUP IS OURs
Reason 2:
Now... statistics shows that after the
the league matches of this
world cup, Australians have won 12
Cosecutive matches.
+ 3 in super six and +1 in semis makes it 16. and they meet India in Finals.
Remember ....... Its the same Ganguli and Boys who broke the sequence of 16 consecutive test victories by aussies.....
So we will make it again World cup is ours.........
Reason 3:
i) West Indies were the champions in 1975 and 1979. The difference between the years is 4.
(ii) Aussies were the champions in 1987 and 1999.
The difference between the years is 12.
By Arithmetic Progression the next number is of course 20. (4, 12, 20).
So the 2003 champions are none other than the champions in
1983. Since
2003-1983=20.
YES it is INDIA.
INDIANS will B the CHAMPIONS
