| Judge comes to court drunk, loses job
Raipur: A civil judge in Chhattisgarh lost his job after he came drunk to the court and abused a lawyer and a staff member. The Chhattisgarh High Court dismissed civil judge (Class II) S L Chakradhari after an inquiry found the charges true.
‘‘The decision to dismiss Chakradhari was taken after his conduct was found against the model code of conduct of a judicial officer,’’ said hifh court registrar general H S Markam.
The complaint against Chakradhari, who was a judge at Dantewada district court, was lodged by Jitendra Mahapatra, a court employee, and lawyer Ashok Jain. The high court promptly ordered an inquiry. The inquiry report said the judge was in an inebriated condition when he misbehaved with the lawyer and the court staff.
