What will be the expectations of any Fedaral Governament from the Gaints?
Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 22, Aug 2003 9:06:23 AM IST As a die-hard fan of Coke, I felt grossly cheated by Coke when I read the whole story.
I understand from the news papers report that the cleanchit by the govt is only as per the CURRENT Indian standards for bottled water. But they could not prove that COLAs in India are the same as what you get in US/Europe. It is proved now that both cola companies are CHEATING indian consumers by saying that their products are well within EU Norms. Infact, 9 out of 12 samples, they were not.
"assertion of the soft drink manufactures that their products are within the EU limits has not proved to be correct for 100% of the samples". - Sushma Swaraj
"in three out of 12 samples (each representing a brand) pesticide residues were below the European Union (EU) standard while in the rest it was above the limit" While CFTRI had reported pesticides 1.6-5.2 times higher, CFL said pesticide residue was 1.2-5.22 times higher than EU prescriptions.

9 0ut of 12 samples have been found to have 1 to 5.22 times pesticides than EU norms. http://www.eenadu.net/panelhtml.asp?qrystr=htm/panel4.htm
