I thought u picked up topic of novel and wanted to make it more discussion oriented.
we are completely different that's we are represented with two different planets like Mars and Venus.
Since these two planets are different similarly Men and Women are different by nature, by behaviour by character by everything.
Men assumed that women/life partner should behave in their way.
Women wanted men to behave in their way by not realising we are different in every way.
If we take each and every aspect we are different. when we realise these aspects our relationship becomes more fruitful and immense pleasure and happiness.

yeah there is reason for comparing with Mars.
andaru mogavallu ala chirru birrulu adaaree. any way men are more of fighting attitude and that's why they are compared with Mars.

in fact u might got good review of the book. It's old saying that woman comes Venus because Venus is beautiful planet? Probably that could be a reason to compare women from venus...
