The world's oldest known printed text was printed in 868 AD.It is currently on display in the British museum.The scroll,stolen by Sir Aurel Stein from China bears the following inscription "reverently made for universal free distribution by Wang Jie on behalf of his parents on the fifteenth of the fourth moon of the ninth year of Xian Long(May 11,868)".The name of the text in English is "THE DIAMOND SUTRA"

How did "news" become "news"???
Because it was full of new things.The english word news comes from the French word meaning "new things"
It is sometimes thought that the news originated from the four points of the compass: North,East.West and South.The trouble with this explanation is that it is not the usual order of referring to the four points of the compass.
