For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; - Romans 3:23
No one is perfect. No one can earn heaven on their own. We are all, by nature, sinners.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus
Christ our Lord. - Romans 6:23
Just as we earn wages for working, we also earn wages for our sins. The wages for sin
is death so that is what we deserve because of our sinful nature. Our sin has earned us death.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8
But because God loves us so much, he sent his only Son to pay the price for us. Jesus
took our place and received the punishment in our place. He has paid our debt in full.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation. - Romans 10:9-10
All that God asks us to do is to receive Him in our hearts. We are to turn from our
sin and follow Him. We are to believe that Jesus is the Son of God in our hearts and
confess it with our mouths.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. - Romans 10:13
The Bible, God's Word, tells us that if we call upon the name of the Lord, we will be
saved. If you are ready to accept God's free gift of salvation, simply pray a prayer like the one below with true sincerity from your heart:
"Heavenly Father, I understand that I am a sinner and for my sins I have earned death. I also believe that Jesus, your Son, came to earth, conquered sin and death that I might have eternal life if I just believe in Him and accept Him as my Savior.
I now accept your free gift of salvation and I thank you for saving a sinner like me. In the precious name of Jesus I pray. Amen."
