" Is it a surprise that South Asian Countries are having intellience in IT field "
Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bnagladesh, Ceylon, Burma
Many did not answer satisfactorily including the SA born citizens of America;
I feel really it's surprise which was identified by the west only; Otherwise some Bullaiah or Bullemma could ave own this IT field instead of bill Gates.

About high percentages and jobs. I think getting a high percentage is not a great achievment . I myself wonder how i got good mark in university. There are many things that i have learnt while working and i am still working . In the universities the type of lectures/professors(not talking abt premium institutes,) that we have got , i real wonder what will happen to the students.
During my college days , that attitude of everyone was to get marks. Lecturers usually leak the questions to their favorite students who score good percentages ...above 70. Some students would simply rote everything and spill in the examination room.Others would Cheat.
I don't think a student can get above 80 or 90 in subjects like electronics,Advanced databases and networking because we don't have the basic infrastructure in place in our college labs to even understand the concepts.
Regarding Jobs. I am sure in places like Hyderabad ,lots of Junk guys get the jobs thru references and other means. So would advice you to go to places like Bangalore,Mumbai,Pune.

Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 16, Jan 2004 8:22:12 PM IST Well, politics, so called, are there in every company. mIru telugOLLani teliSAka nEnu sAyam chEyaDAniki elA mundukostAnO, alAgE pratODU "mana" anukunnOLLaki sAyam chEyAlanukunTADu. Those kind of scenes are there in my company too! And its one of the big IT companies in the world!! We just can't avoid it. And we need to learn how to safegaurd our butt. chANakyuDu cheppADanukunTA Its part of life. You don't need to play tricks to curb some one, but you should be smart enough to keep you safe!
Coming to the selection criteria, in my 9 yrs of career, I'm still trying to find out the right answer. Some guys go for "Process of Elimination", where we lose many "right" guys, some go for "Process of Selection", where we may get good people. Anyways, yes, right people are NOT getting right jobs, but why? I'll join you in asking.
