General Forum: Current 'Affairs' | Student Agitations :: Do you think students have a right to question policy decisions? | |
| what the bylaws says is important .
Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 28, Jan 2004 9:04:32 PM IST Students have the right to form a union or organization. Every student union is affliated to some political party. The senior leaders belongs to that political party. No agitation goes beyond control without the involvement of political parties that or either in Govt. or in opposition. This is a chain link. It is difficult to start any agitation without political support. Can any one disgree that their children are not involved without their knowledge. I did not say consent.
Afterall policies for whom ? for the students. The management or Govt. should have a policy to review these policies periodically to update / amend them as deemed necessary. It's the question of bylaws who will review these and whom will be present. So, educate them no harm in it.

Posted by: Mr. jogarao pilla At: 22, Jan 2004 6:30:12 PM IST Why can't students question the policies of the government? Most of them who are agitating are voters. Any voter can question the govt. They collectively put forward the issue on behalf of the people.
Most of us blame the govt. doctors for their indifference. It is a welcoming move that they in the learning stage itself showing concern for poor.
Govt. must come forward and take back its decision. Otherwise it will lose the mandate.
Posted by: Ms. Prasanthi Uppalapati At: 22, Jan 2004 5:52:32 PM IST some how it is taking ugly shape, as the medicos trying to take support of opposition (congress) and campaign their correctness.
Posted by: Ravi Kanth Yalamanchili At: 22, Jan 2004 5:10:23 PM IST The ongoing strike of Medical Students and responses from the elite of various fields/departments raised an issue on policy decisions and rights of students. For example, Junior Doctors and Medicos opposed levying user charges in govt. hospitals. But bureaucrats are of an opinion that it is a policy related issue and students have no right to question such decisions. What is your opinion? Share your views.
