/By this time the British were very much devastated at war ,they couldnt afford to maintain thier colonies ,and thats how a host of countires got their independence./ True to some extent because the brit has maintained with small no of british soldiers by creating rift bet hindus & muslims and between one king to the other. But with freedom movement it is not possible for them to keep control with small no. of soldiers and hence has no other option but to grant independence. .... Yes. But the immediate reason for their withdrawal from India was the Naval Mutiny at Bombay, after the Great War. They ruled INdia with their military might, but when the Naval staff rebelled, they felt that their time was Up in INdia.

They have imparted induction training using East India Company; Specialized training in 1857 during first revolution( as per Indian Version) by the entry of British Queen directly under her rule; Afetr 100 years training britishers no need to stay in India when they are upto what they are in need.

When they are getting from India what they wanted what difference does it makes whether they are in INDIA or not. We have to do business but not at the cost of our natural resources. Indians international values are remained same yesterday, today & tomorrow.

Withdrawl from India and also from other nations was an ongoing process from circa the start of last century. The continued pressure from Indian nationalists, world wide bids for national independence and the increasing costs of the british empire which was no longer making the money it did in the 19th century were part reasons. WWII brought about the final deal when India supported GB with the promise of withdrawl. So..to conclude, I think it was the result of both the reasons - they had to leave(we forced them to) and they left.
