Karachi March. 13 (PTI): India beat Pakistan by five runs in the first one-day international cricket match here today.
Earlier reports said Pakistan had reached 192 for three in 32 overs. A third wicket partnership of 135 runs off 20.3 overs between skipper Inzamam-Ul Haq, and Yousuf Youhana helped Pakistan reach 192 for three in 32 overs in the one-day international cricket match against Indian at the National Stadium here today.
Set to get 350 runs for a win at seven runs per over, the hosts lost both their openers -- Imran Farhat (24) and Yasir Hameed (7) cheaply before Inzamam and Youhana salvaged the situation.
Part time bowler Virender Sehwag, got India the crucial breakthrough when Youhana and Haq were going great guns by having Youhana caught by substitute Irfan Pathan, for 73 which came off 67 balls with five fours and four sixes.
Haq was batting on 72 off 68 balls with six fours and a six while new man Younis Khan was batting on 10 after 32 overs.
