| Man created God's images according to his imagination but God is simple, subtle and insignificant and can not be seen with our eyes but can be experienced by our heart if tuned towards him.Every one can experience and experienced but can not be explained due to the obvious nature of God.Just think about God and He is there ,but only when self is not there ,then only God can be experienced. try and experience God any time you wish.Going to temples and religious places reminds us of His existence and therefore there is no need to keep our eyes open in front of the idol created by man.

Whether the effect is different or same,going to religious places depends upon faith,belief,satisfaction,habit and desire of the devotees.The environment gives them happiness and satisfaction.
And this faith /belief shows the presence of God.

Is it a must for one to go to temple, mosque or church to pray? Else does it give a person the same effect, even if he/she pray's at home? then, why do people go to religious places to pray?

Many persons reach to religious places travelling many kilometres only to close their eyes in front of the lord, without having a good look at the diety/god. It is debatable to discuss, whether one should see the diety/god, while in front of it or close one's eyes. LOL
