Attn : Mrs. Vidushini Ramachandrarao garu and Manoopuli and EPuudu and others opinions Thanks for the information , but I got these information from the Savoner for Nama Nagerswar Rao Kalyanan Mandapam (Kammamvari Kalyana Mandapam ) and I Believe there should be some name existing before britishers. Some Information The present name of Khammam is said to have been derived from the name of this temple Nrusimhadri later, Stamba Sikhari and then it was termed as Stambhadri. The vertical rock in Urdu language is known as Kamba. The name of the town Khammam seems to have been derived from the name of this hill of Kamba

Let Me Share Some Information What I Know, as we know Stambadhri is renamed as Khammam .
We Know Stabadhri is Named Because of Lord Narasimha Temple . in Olden days Andhra ( East/West G , KrishNA) AND SOME AREAS suffered from DROUGHT .that time there were no Projects for Krishna and Godavari , and at that time all the farmers (Small ) mainly from Kamma (caste)migrated to this land where there were lot of resources for Agriculture . form that time This place is Treated as Kamma Metta ( The land of Groups of Kammas ), that converted in to Khammmam .
this gives that there is no great story to find the roots of Khammam . and also as Vidushini Mam Postings it does not mean that this was ruled by kammas . Still we can find more tribal people in khammam Dt, Major community is ST .
