Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 14, Jul 2004 7:03:19 PM IST If you are lookin at PhD in Computer Science then not many intitutes offer that course without a basic M Tech degree - but yeah there are a few institutes that would consider MSc Candidates too like HCU & IIIT Hyderabad (U need to take entrance tests and then interviews) ... I'm not sure about the current rules at IISc Bangalore and the IITs.
Reg. Journals .. ocne again I am not sure whether any journal publication would secure you admission in Indian Universities (though ACM / IEEE publications would give u a better rating in the interview)
Topic depends on your interest .. I would rather suggest domains like Nano technologies, Software Engineering, Networking, Firmware etc ( as compared to the hyped-up Artificial Intelligence, Neural Nets, Databases etc)
