On Wednesday President A P J Abdul Kalam rejected the mercy petition of Dhananjoy Chatterjee.
A West Bengal trial court had also sentenced him to death, which was confirmed by the high court and the Supreme Court, for raping and murdering 14-year-old school girl, Hetal Parekh, in 1994.
