♡ ♡ ♡ I LOVE MY INDIA ♡ ♡ ♡
Posted by: ★Vinåyåkåm★ chitt♥♥r At: 13, Aug 2005 10:14:17 AM IST It’s tragic to write on the eve of the 58th Independence Day like this. People may sey let the bygones be bygone. But the lessons must learn from the past. Frankly, speaking India about to celebrate a day of hypocracy, another indepence day! Our leaders, who fought for the freedom also fought aginst social prejudices and dreamt of a society where every one was considered equal and had apportunities like everyone else. It was not just political freedom they wanted but social and economic too, based on the idea that all humans are born free and equal. But the ideas and goals are misplaced and almost forgotten. It’s a land where people are subjected to massacre for petty reasons even after Independence. It’s a land where women are denied equal opportunities. This is the land of rigging during elections. This is the land where the most VIPs of the land, school children are crushed to death under the tyres of automobile vehicles before the school itself. It’s a land where the ‘Red Light’ at the traffic junctions is often jumped. We have a National Capital in which rapes occur once a day on average that means 365 a year! This is a land of pandomoniums in the legislatures. This is the land where few politicians have ethical and moral responsibilities. This is a land where the primordial loyalties vest with caste, religion and other sectarian violence. This is a land where 1.4-lakh issues of domestic violence are being reported. What a falst reporting it is! It must be 14 crore of such issues. Ours is the democracy where Women’s Reservation Bill is being skipped tabling in the parliament for want of never achievable ‘consensus’. To get that bill passed only women in the Parliament unite, but not women in India! What a tragedy it is! This is a land where governments make the Acts for women like Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961 but fail to implement or react despite the directive by the Apex Court. We love India not because of her communal history, but for compassionate and tolerant attitude. We love India not because of Narendra Modi and Jagadish Tytler like people, but for those great minds like Mahatma Gandhi and Ravindranadh Tagore. We claim that India is land of ‘Upanishads’ that talk about ‘Atma Bhasha’ (Soul Language) that is secular, but we missed or skipped the needs of internal discipline in mind. When we stop ourself to think in a hypocratic way? When we realise the real independence? When will we celebrate our Independence in an unhypocratic way? Will it be 59th, 60th or?
