| Hi Eeswar,
Here are some basics for Sql Profiler.
Sql Profiler usage:
TO monitor the Sql Server performance issues,tracking the sql server events with given specifics ,analysing long running queries and ineffective indexes .
perfomance look up for a particular instance and measuring the query performance by identifying the poor execution plans ,and long running queries (most of the times will lock the resources and block the users long time)
Hence these needs to be optimized for better performance.
This tool provides great usage while working with Sql Server trace files.
Basic use : Its a debugging tool for Stored procedures and TSql.
Working with this tool is not that difficult, Its basically a graphical tool each and every screen will walk you thru the help window how to track events,setting trace properties, selecting specific coloumns under groups just like customizing the templates for any of your application.
Hope this will give you some basic idea.

Harini, you should try this book to start with. It is "SQL Server 2000: A beginner's Guide" by Petkovic, and published by Osborne Mc Graw Hill.
It is a good one, as i have gone over it.

First better learn ANSI SQL which is a standard for any RDBMS. Get a book on ANSI SQL it will take only few days to learn SQL then take any SQlServer begginers book and practise.
Alternatively If you know SQL and U are fast at learning then better go to SQLServer books online that comes with the Installation and start praticing the examples.
