General Forum: Society | Child Labor Prevention Act | |
| Anything can be done to control child labor; In the first place it's parents who are seeking benifit out of it. Many children do work at home though they are not paid. If the parents has business they will ask their children to work first in the leisure time.
In majority parents are mistly responsible for the child labor and they can control it if they comitted.

I think this is only due to the large population India has got for itself. Also the badawallas who speak volumes about child labour abolition are the ones responsible for this. Maybe we can see that if we go to their homes. I think even they too will employ small kids for their household chores.
So, nothing can be done about this problem.

Posted by: Anusha Devi At: 27, Sep 2004 8:25:51 PM IST To give every child education, the education system has to change. not the labour system.
Our education system, is not giving a hope that an educated one can live better.
presently education is meaning that just byhearting few lines and getting through exams n getting a degree. Because of this there is no much difference in the attitude of the one who is a scholar and an illeterate. Our education, whihc is not bringing any introspection in hearts of ppl, which is not creating love for fellow humanbeings is responsible for many miseries.
for example, when a Scholar goes to a mechanic shop to get his bike fixed , there will be a small kid with dirty clothes who is always being scolded by mechanic. The scholar also treats him like a slave and addresses the little child without any affection . and i came accross few educated ppl who pay not attention for suffering ppl. then what for their education is.
I have seen child labourers moving friendly, sharing food, and sometimes playing happily. They love each other.
I think many of the so called Educated ones have to learn how to love the fellow humanbeing from these kids only, instead of trying to teach them acadamical eduation.

Posted by: Mrs. Aruna At: 24, Sep 2004 12:46:00 PM IST There is no proper employment for adults so the children.
It's a multi fold problem including:
1. Small firms are encouraging child labor due to low wages
2. Sincere and loyal
3. Parents encourage much to over come financial burdens
4. Why education? After education also he has to work only so , why not from today to gain more experience.
5. Our education do not accomodate all class of people together.
6. Our education proves the no of inabilities rather than proving one ability.
7. Dropouts are more from std 1 to 5
8. We are not sure the reason for a compulsory education.
Ex: Aaktayi ga tirege vaadu chakkaga swim chestadu. Friends tho saradaga swim ki vellina vaady munigi pothadu.
9. Sports and games are not attracting the children to go to school
10. Practicing social unjustice.
