| To 'sever' is better than bringing the situation to 'severe'.
I feel sorry for the plight of people who are unable to sever their relationship with both the parties (by taking back the 'brute' majority given to them).

There has hardly been any political party having stable honeymoon with other parties(as alliance) for the sake for say seeking majority in Assembly/Parliment. The union of the 2 parties have mostly been like One Night Stand(Brief).
