Thanks for the tips UK and Yugz! :-) If I ghost C on D, where will I install the unix then? Looks like I will need a third partition then! After coming across the virtualization, I was browsing thru various vmware posts and somewhere I read you need linux before u can install solaris. VM workstation sounds interesting as I understand there is no need to partition etc, will have to look more into it. This is just the beginning, once I install the OS I am sure I'll have other issues like finding the device drivers for the video card, network card etc...overall its going to be fun!

BTW, Hw many partitionz U hav on Ur Disk right now...??? If U hav more than 1 partition like "C:", "D:" etc..., U dont need another Hard-Disk...Since U said, U dont hav Win2K CD to reinstall, U can free the other partition(like D:)(but dont meddle wid the C: partition) & install UNIX (or) LINUX on that free-space... And as Bluey said, Partition Magic iz a gud1...U nee2 run thiz Partition Magic S/w(itz also called PQMAGIC) in DOS mode only, it doesnt work under Windows... P.S.: LOLz...if U R really consfused abt all theze(I mean if U R a beginner on thiz stuff) & before meddlin wid the Partitions, as Bluey said itz always better to backup the Full Hard-Disk Data...

hey Blues, I know how to get you here! ;-) thx a bunch on those links... its not Linux I am going to install its Solaris, so will bootloader and LILO (sounds like the wife of FIFO) still work? vmware sounds like fun, I'll try that if thats available! so the first thing I gotta do is to get another HD and/or backup everything before I start messing things up, hmmmmm!

I have Windows2000 on my Desktop and I want to install Intel Unix as another partition. What different options do I have? Is there any freeware to do this? Will my internet connection work with Unix? I dont have Win2K OS CD so cannot reinstall it. Thanks in advance!
