Hello Everybody, Thanks a lot to all of you for your inputs and great support. Thanks to MR for the victims list. Mr. Anand Kuchibhotla of Silicon Andhra was at the affected areas last month and did extensive study and brainstorming with the local authorities and friends. Mr.Anand is from Machilipatnam area, so he knows much about the ground realities there. After a lot of discussion, Anand garu proposed that we should take up a small but useful long term project on our own. He has took the responsibility of identifying, monitoring of the implementation of that project. He will be visiting India once again very shortly. He will let us know the progress. The fund raising initiative we took up to help poor farmers in Andhra Pradesh, and now this Tsunami Fund - inspired a lot of regular visitors of TP site. They are taking up small, but very useful tasks to help people who are in need. They are all now working on a long term continuous initiative. We will let you know the details very shortly.

Well, I may be getting a list of Tsumani victims from bandar. Shall we identify the most needy, give them some kind of tokens and ask them to collect relief from us?

Just now noticed a posting from Mr. Sunil Kumar K. http://discussion.telugupeople.com/discussion/index.asp?board=-3&topicCode=250&tc1=5284&tc2=0&topic=Help+Tsunami+Victims Now for those(and for those of us who are posed this question, by potential donors), who hope to get tax deductions, for the donations, i would appreciate if the intelelctuals in TP who have knowledge with law & tax procedures, post some Q & A for similar issues. Please !! One more possibility, is to code a donation page which should be easy for 'programmers out of us' and host that page with our web servers, and power it using Paypal Donations buttons. To make the process easy, make sure your specify the email address to that of the TP, so that donation goes directly to TP.I would update everybody once i build one such page, so that users can easily donate, using credit card, rather than registering to paypal. Also, i can provide code(in PHP) once completed, for those who would like to host it on thier webservers. Respond to him.

After the discussion with TP.Com officials, I realised we can do even more for those who are suffering. Not only money, we need physical assistance in implementing few things. Volunteers with an urge to work for the society may contact us. Visit http://rediffchatters.tripod.com

Dear Friends and all the contributors, As there is a SiliconAndhra cultural event on 22nd Jan, we at TeluguPeople.com and SiliconAndhra decided to finalise the distribution / implementation plan for the Tsunami Relief fund after this event. We hope to finalise the plan by the end of this month. We request everybody to post your suggestions and ideas on how to use the fund for the long term benefit of the victims families. TeluguPeople.com appreciates the efforts being made by ARCH/SHiFT and several individual members of TeluguPeople.com who are taking initiative to help people in need.
