| Poetry for tsunami aid
from Amy Ouzoonian via A Gathering of the Tribes:
Hey there folks! I’ve got some news for poets and lovers of poetry and people who feel that they want to help the survivors of the tsunami in nations that have been affected by this disaster. The publisher that published my book of poems, Michael Czarnecki of Foothills Publishing, has agreed to publish a short collection of poems that I will edit, but we need submissions. The tentative title for this book is It Was Apparent to the Orphans: Poems for the Tsunami Survivors but that may change as I receive submissions. All of the proceeds from this book (with the exception of production costs, of course) will go to a relief fund for the victims of the tsunami. So if you have a poem that you believe belongs in a book of this nature, if you have a poem that addresses a desire for social justice, empathy for survivors, or disgust for the apathy of leaders of unaffected nations (just to throw around a few ideas), send these poems to me, Amy Ouzoonian, as soon as you possibly can!
The deadline for this collection is soon! January 22nd at the latest! Some exceptions may apply, but the sooner you can get poems to me, the sooner we can get aid to the people in India, Sri Lanka and other surrounding nations.
