There were rumours earlier that the Republic Day Parade this year will be tone down due to the tsunami devastation.
But the govt. and oppn. both are on consensus against the proposals.
Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee and BJP's spokeswoman Sushma Swaraj are of the opinion that the parade demonstrates the nation's strength and capacity. It would only serve to boost the morale of the people.
