All I meant to say was merely getting people for the meeting doesnt mean they enjoy their support and in that context I quoted Aishwarya Rai and Money Distribution as two examples.
Torture by police is slightly better than torture by Naxals right? .. Police force is somewhat accountable unlike Naxals. SO when there are threats from both the side, one would tend to go with a relatively safe option! That was my point

Malak, I'm not supporting Naxalites in my previous comment. I was trying to tell that naxal meetings were attended by folks either out of fear or respect, not for money.
Think about it, knowing about the police torture anybody would dare to attend these meetings for money?
For people who attend these meetings out of fear, it's like "mundu nuyyi venuka goyyi".
Get my point? *Still no adrenaline in my body, on the top of that, this family profile is killing whatever I have because everytime I login it comes up with my wife's ID and I had to start my login from scratch.* :)

If naxals really want to fight for oppressed, why can't they lay down their arms, contest in elections, win and serve the oppressed? If they really have support from Tribals, that's what they need to do. Maybe Tribals support Naxals out of fear? who knows?
