Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 9, Mar 2005 9:50:01 PM IST To improve healthcare services in the country, central govt. is thinking on 're-registration' for doctors every 5 years. This will be on the lines of United Kingdom's practise. Continuous Medical Education through regular upgradation of medical professionals’ knowledge base is the idea.
With the resurgence of new diseases and modern age problems, it is far more necessary for doctors, to upgrade their skills, to provide adequate healthcare facilities to the common man.
The system, to be initially focused on the doctors in government hospitals, would slowly cover the medical professionals in the private sector as well.
Do you support our government's decision? What are the pros and cons of such a policy?
