If dowry is a gift that is agreed upon by both families, then I cannot see what the problem is.
Somehow though it doesn't appear quite as simple as that!

Very soon,may be tomorrow,my an investigative article could get published in Andhra Prabha. A new form of dowry harassment is being emerged in the state.I indirectly targetted a person....with evidence. He could be caught into the dragon net.

Dowry is a lumpsum royalty paid to the male world and there after it will be an occasional during celebrity.
Dowry is another means of bribing the male domination in the corrupted society.
It's illegal to demand and or accepting a dowry.
It has come down as the education for female group increasing. This will further godown if we are able achieve 100% education for female.

It is not must. Yes, it is a kind of gift. There need not be any mixed views. If girl's parents want to give dowry, let them give. If they don't want or can't give, let them not go to the boys who are "expecting" the dowry. Its pretty simple. Thats it.

I have tried to read about dowry. I still do not understand some bits of it. There are many mixed views. Is this a gift that the bride's family give the groom and his family? Is this a must at all weddings?
