how r u man? ekkada nunchI nuvvu?
Posted by: Suneel At: 10, May 2005 4:22:01 AM IST hi frnds,
all it needs to b a good student is the fundaes he has on his subject and the interest he shows to obtain those..... a 98% intermediate topper doesn't mean hez fundamentally good at his subjects.. if anybody thinks he is, i pity him.. well somebody in this forum talked abt "avg students better than creamy layers" .. well pls define avg and creamy plzz so tht v can follow ur arguements.. well i suggest the inter exams to be conducted just like eamcet objective but with may be 6 options per question... and the rest like sanskrit, english normal as before...
Posted by: Mr. Susruth doddapaneni At: 10, May 2005 4:12:36 AM IST No way intermediate marks shouldbe given weightage for admission into any professional course. What Sush mensioned is correct. There are some guyz who mug up mathematics too, they dont have any brains, rather i should say never use. Still they get 90+ in intermediate. Things turned much worser with these so called corporate junior colleges.
I heard BITS PILANI also planing to conduct test for admissions now, thats a good move actually.
In Andhra there are around 200+ engineering colleges now. One can count the colleges having proper adminstration on fingers.
Posted by: Suneel At: 16, Apr 2005 2:02:57 AM IST Aloo, you expressed my point. We thought about it when our beloved CEO of AP permitted 1000000000000's of Engg colleges in AP. You missed the MCA colleges. Now, as Vaishnavi said, Engg lost its charm in AP. Engineering colleges were like pan shops. And I don't know what will happen to these engineers in future. Not many jobs, but plenty of graduates. These engineers now will be like ordinary graduates during some time ago. Next time you want to say that you are an engineer, just mention that "I'm an engineer of that era". hihihi.
Coming to EAMCET + Inter Marks, I'm against to giving weightage to Inter marks.
Mugging... Suresh, I've seen 80% of students study the exams for scoring, but not for gaining knowledge. Especially those who score high %ages are very poor at fundamental thought process and knowledge. I think avg scored students are having better knowledge & good thinking power than these so called "creamy layer students", that Infosys, CTS & TCS look for.
60 colleges for Minotiries in AP!?! Incredible. When I was going into Engg, there were only 23 colleges in total.
Posted by: Bahud♥♥rapu Baatasaari At: 15, Apr 2005 10:41:45 AM IST hello readers,
the foremost imp thing here to b discussed is whether the intended knowledge level of the student is obtained or not. first things first inter marks can be achieved by lotta mugging.i really dont support that. there r students who even mug mathematical formulae n problems likewise. EAMCET is better in this aspect that it requires a bit of thinking and analytical ability.
Since this discussion is abt inter n EAMCET dont bring IIT-JEE into the picture here as it disproportionately gains importance over both of these.
ayina ippudu the usual goal of andhra students as i hear is CS(comp sc) + MS(post-grad) + US.....
thx
Posted by: Mr. Susruth doddapaneni At: 14, Apr 2005 12:35:55 PM IST Most of the students lack stuff because of the pattern of the EAMCET exam. A student who is going to study in a professional college should not be judged by objective questions. Eamcet Question Paper needs to be properly set with analytical Questions for answering which the stdents will have better grip on the subjects.
With objective questions in exams a average student will get a good rank by fluke.
Because of many loop holes in intermediate marks, BITSpilani stopped admissions for AP students based on Intermediate marks.
Posted by: Sanvi Sarma At: 14, Apr 2005 12:30:11 PM IST I feel the weightage for EAMCET should be reduced ,may be 20%weitage must be given ,not more .this is mainly because ,even though many students get into engg based on Eamcet ,most of them lack stuff .Most of the guides or coaching centres have become so experienced with the conduct of Eamcet that they can almost forsee what questions would be asked and accordingly train the candidates .
Due to the focussing of Eamcet ,many students miss the IIT enterance and enterance to BITS pillani .
In chennai ,its just the opp to AP .Most of the CBSE students do not care for the TN enterance exams and they start preparing for IIT ,and get into it ,else they join Engg courses avaliable in the state ,and after joining into a lousy college ,they prove their merit ,by ranking high .
Posted by: Mr. Doctorate Thief At: 14, Apr 2005 12:19:40 PM IST Nenu oppukuntaanu Suresh gaaru EAMCET,IIT coaching antoo subject meeda concentration taggutundani kanee putta godugullaa puttukochchina Inter colleges ni control cheyyadam saadhyamaa...copying enta jarugutundo???? enta varaku ee inter marks ni nammavachchu???
Posted by: Vennela At: 13, Apr 2005 12:26:04 PM IST No, intermediate marks should not be taken into consideration for admissions into professional colleges. The students from Corporate Junior Colleges will have advantage over students studying in Government Junior Colleges.
Anyways nowadays with so many engineering colleges in AP, there is no need of even getting rank in EAMCET. I have heard that even with first class in Intermediate students are joining in engineering colleges paying the same amount as decided for the Payment Quota. Is Engineering Degree Worth in Andhra?
Engineering Degree has lost its professional charm.
