"1) Is it not possible to maintain a single domain for the all the governments in India? If yes, what could be the data base and correct platform? If no, why? " The answer is simple ,even if VAT is maintained under a single record ,each state is diverse ,many states have economic zones and each economic zone ,or zones which are declared backward are given special priority and status ,depending on the necessity and intensity of the problem ,i.e. tribal areas ,areas dominated by sc &st receive special incentives and tax holidays ,based on the state govt initiatives . Thus VAT is useful for end accounting ,and it isnt a tool for the running of states ... Good suggestion. But my question is, Is it not possible to maintain single database for the VAT for the total India.

1) Is it not possible to maintain a single domain for the all the governments in India? If yes, what could be the data base and correct platform? If no, why? ____________________________________________ All Govts within India have do a common domain ".gov.in" be in Telecom, Railways or Governance _____________________________________________ 2) Hope you know about VAT (Value Added TAx). By implementing the VAT across the country, there result in integration of the commerce across the country. Is it no possible to create a single for it? _____________________________________________ Could u elaborate this question? I think u missed a few words while typing _____________________________________________ 3) Is it not possible to integrate all the domains and databases of the states in India? Madhya Pradesh, Goa used Linux. Punjab, Rajasthan use Windows. Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Central Government use Windows and Linux. Live wise, different states use different platforms. I believe the date must be same. What are your suggestion this regard? Is it possible? ____________________________________________ _ It is possible to integrate systems running on different platforms. But it will be purposeful ONLY IF THE DATA PERTAINING TO A SPECIFIC STATE IS USED EXTENSIVELY BY THE OTHER STATES. It's risky to have a single database for all the Govt applications in India .. it would be toooooooooooo huge to maintain _____________________________________________ 4) What are the utilities of Super Computer in the concept of E-Governance in India? Is it possible to link each and every village, each and every department to New Delhi via State Capitals in E-Governance? If yes, how? If no, what are the impedements? Supercomputers are handy when large chunks of data need to be processed in superfast time, as they use Parallell and distributed processing techniques. But in the current scenario, I dont think Indian Govt needs any supercomputer for E-Gov .. instead it can use smaller workstations working in tandem over the Internet. Supercomputers are useful only in research fields like Defense, Space and Bio Technology. If not used properly, a supercoputer becoems a white elephant _____________________________________________ 5) What are the advantages and disadvantages of having single date base for the entire India? Advantage: I dont see anything significant, though some may argue that the Data would eb on a single server and easy to handle .. But on the contrary, I feel its too risky to have such an arrangement and maintenance of such a database will be an uphill, if not an impossible task. _____________________________________________ 6) What are your suggestions for the effective E-Governance? What are the problems, if any, you have identified till date through our your experience? _____________________________________________ One can write a 10-paged article on this within a day. Send me a mail if you want me send you a detailed response for this question .. AND YES .. THE ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS CAN ONLY BE INFORMATIVE (EVEN IF EINSTEIN ANSWERS THEM), NOT INNOVATIVE SICNE THEY ARE JUST CLARIFICATIONS, BUT NOT SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS. Had you asked a question like "How can E Gov help the Govt in solving the problems relatedd to common man?" people would have given you innovative aswers .. but DO send me a mail if you think I'm good enough to help you out with some stuff on E-Governance

Please clarify these doubts: 1) Is it not possible to maintain a single domain for the all the governments in India? If yes, what could be the data base and correct platform? If no, why? 2) Hope you know about VAT (Value Added TAx). By implementing the VAT across the country, there result in integration of the commerce across the country. Is it no possible to create a single for it? 3) Is it not possible to integrate all the domains and databases of the states in India? Madhya Pradesh, Goa used Linux. Punjab, Rajasthan use Windows. Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Central Government use Windows and Linux. Live wise, different states use different platforms. I believe the date must be same. What are your suggestion this regard? Is it possible? 4) What are the utilities of Super Computer in the concept of E-Governance in India? Is it possible to link each and every village, each and every department to New Delhi via State Capitals in E-Governance? If yes, how? If no, what are the impedements? 5) What are the advantages and disadvantages of having single date base for the entire India? 6) What are your suggestions for the effective E-Governance? What are the problems, if any, you have identified till date through our your experience? Since these questions are part of E-Governance, your clarifications must be innovative and thought provoking to the existing set-up as I am going to attempt an article in this regard
