General Forum: Education | Admissions time. Should schools be banned collecting hefty fees in the name of 'donations'? | |
| The key is if u take donation u become popular fast and the information spreads here and there, if u dont, it will take time to get recognition.

Posted by: SATYA RAMA PRASAD KALLURI At: 14, Aug 2005 7:09:10 AM IST When it comes to donations somehow most of them from andhra have a big heart & are for it, i guess. Becoz if you see the engineering and medical colleges in karnataka, maharastra, most of the students are from AP. Surprisingly, the percentage from their own state is negligible. So partly , we are also to be blamed to encourage donations. We believe only those institutions that take money give good standard education, though not necessarily.

What you posted is correct. Please also note that many people feel highly graded to say that their children are educated in convent or Public Schools. They feel low graded to tell others that their children are educated in Government Schools/Zilla Parishad Schools. But when you come to Engineering colleges ,Medical Colleges or other Professional Colleges people will feel highly graded to say that their children are studying in Government/University Colleges and feel very low graded to tell that their children are studying in private colleges.
The reason is because of the facilities and infrastructure that are available in convent, Public Schools or other costly private schools; when it comes to School level. When it comes to Professional College level, the Government/University Colleges will have good facilities and infrastructure, when compared to private engineering colleges or Medical Colleges or other Professional colleges. Even the employers prefer students who have completed their professional degrees from Government or University Colleges only.

Posted by: venkat suresh chowdary At: 5, Jul 2005 10:40:54 PM IST instead of banning ,why dosent the govt try to imporve its standard of education ,and if the govt charges ,may be a small amount of fees ,for maintenence ,then ,I think ,the private schools would come down a bit
