I am happy a good discussion is going on. Paying the parents in the same coin is definitely not the answer. Children should be more magnanimous than their parents. Parents belong to an older generation & naturally their exposure is bound to be less than that of their children & hence they must be given a fair deal. Retaliation is no remedy.

Good argument ! What ever be the opinion children should consider parents. People will hate even if they do social service in the public and neglect parents!

I think going to temples/mosques/churches etc have no meaning, applying kumkum, vibudhi, if basics are not followed, i mean it makes no sense for someone to pray for his/ their family welfare, if they have decided to ignore their old aged parents or left them to the mercy of old age homes. Nothing is more painful than this. One should question his own conscious and answer?

Please think of those who never became parents, by never got married! Pitiest than this... isn't it?

Sir, I want to raise another question: To what extent is the present old generation responsible for their present plight? To what extent is it their own making?

The discussion in general related to the children those who were grown up to a good position and well to do in the soceity. Can't the children consider their parents as one of the contributors for their acievemnt in the life?? Posted by: Mr. Madhu kumar Nemalikanti At: 13, Jul 2005 1:29:59 PM IST ... Yes. Madhuji... parents contribution is a must the growth of children...that must be acknowledged by them. At the old age, they need care just like another children.

hi veva garu, gd morning, It depends on individual to individual,it should come from within to take care of parents in their old age. Posted by: DoBoy At: 13, Jul 2005 11:15:02 AM IST. ... Yes Kiranji, Good morning! If parents care their children with care, children will give double to their parents. I know some children who were illtreated by their parents with multiple marriages in their personal life, treat their parents badly.

There is a generation gap of communication. Because of this this kind of fateful situation. Modern society is fast changing, earlier generations, ethos and egos are pulling back. Many youth at the present generation is after careerism. Parents want their support at the old age.
