General Forum: Current 'Affairs' | Railway gangman saves hundreds of lives | |
| These kind of acts need to hog lime light and be on front pages of newspapers for deriving inspiration for others.
Posted by: DoBoy At: 23, Jul 2005 12:52:21 PM IST Hat's off to TDP supremo and its party for sanctioning Rs.20000/- for the dead gangman, who lost his life trying to save the train from an anticpated mishap and Rs.10000/- for his assistant. A good deed indeed.
Posted by: DoBoy At: 21, Jul 2005 10:52:56 AM IST Papers have lead stories only for a day or two and later it is forgotten, ex: Harshad Mehta shares issue, Stamp paper issue, it is all forgotton, Most of them do not know the development on tht.
Posted by: DoBoy At: 14, Jul 2005 11:47:54 AM IST May his (their) tribe increase!
Our news papers should highlight such news items instead of rubbish talk delivered by our politicians.
Actually I read that one gangman lost his life, whereas another person did this rare feat.
Let such tales be included in our text books too!
Posted by: SATYA RAMA PRASAD KALLURI At: 14, Jul 2005 0:05:09 AM IST It is time the passengers, railways in particular and state government do something, the imagination of wht would hv happened is horrible in terms of money, lives etc. Both of them havae to be adequately compensated
Posted by: DoBoy At: 11, Jul 2005 2:37:37 PM IST Govt. would be interested to give Rs. 5 lakhs only if the accident happens and many people lose their lives. How come it give that much money now as the tragic accident is averted!!
Yes. The gangman deserves much recognition and more amount as reward.
Some other gangman died? If so, his family needs help, govt. should consider this case atleast.
Posted by: Ms. Prasanthi Uppalapati At: 11, Jul 2005 2:23:06 PM IST He should be rewarded min Rs. 5 laks with an appreciation from the state Governor. Unfortunately he is not a spokesman to get wider publicity.
It is time to review IR safety system in identifying the hazards involving high risk.
In June 1987 near mancherial due heavy down pour one of the tank bund wall give way and caused the Dakshin Express train to wash away by half KM from the railway track. A Major loss during that accident.
IR should Should check the tracks how much safe they are including rainy seasons. Sufficient facilities for the staff residing at remote areas.
Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 11, Jul 2005 2:10:00 PM IST Lot more. And the other gang man who lost his life ... mana ghana nivALulu
Posted by: Bahud♥♥rapu Baatasaari At: 11, Jul 2005 12:09:18 PM IST He deserves more
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 11, Jul 2005 12:06:28 PM IST The railway track was damaged between Station Ghanpur and Nashkal near Kazipet due to heavy downpour and unexpected rains. The breach was discovered by gangman Bhikya Suryam, who stopped the outbound Godavari Express just in time on Saturday. He was been awarded Rs 5,000 for his timely action. Is this amount fair enough? Should we not do more than this?. He has gone a long way to help stop the train by bursting a cracker to stop the oncoming train and get driver's attention. He has saved hundres of life
