Exactly Zero Garu, I used Central University as just a reference and wasnt talking about this gal getting a seat there. I can quote an example from my prev employer iGate which is a mid-size dcompany wherein we ppl, while recuriting people, were asked to consider even the EAMCET ranks fof the people who claimed to be toppers from Ordinary colleges. No Employer would tell the candidate openly that the ranks are being considered ..

If I look at rowdy gari comments, I understood that he stated 'Central University' just as an 'example' to show that MCA grad's are prefered over engg grads based on the university, he mighthave used any decent university in that place , and no where he mentioned that he expected the girl a seat in central university.... when it comes to looking at specific cases common sense tells me to consider the most general pattern, that's if a person does well in Eamcet (good ranker), joins a good university college , he is expected to do well in his course... ifa student is topper through out till university he is expected to do well in university if an athlete wins in every race before, then he is expected to do well in next race and people tend to bet on him knowing that he won in the past and might this time....exceptions do happen.... but unfortunately I am not the person who can imagine all kinds exceptions and build my cases on them (like a person getting 10th rank in class X, 7 th rank in inter, 20th rank in Eamcet but failing in Engg, or a person getting 30,000 rank in Eamcet , then a gold medal/university top in Engg) these things can happen but they are called exceptions which means they are very very rare (They wouldnt be called exceptions if they aren't rare) and as I said people do think in the general pattern, (i.e if a person can't do well in mathematics and fails the in X may be once or twice, in inter he generally won't select mpc and go for IIt coaching, general thing they do is to opt for a diiferent group without maths) Regarding building fees/campus developmental fee,as far as I am aware no institute/college fully run by the government can demand any funds other than the stipulated fees unless they are voluntary donations...... If any other tp member has come across such case of govt institute/college demanding building fee please let me know...

I agree with Mr Zero too.. EAMCET rank does matter for employers and its totally wrong to assume that Engineering graduates are given preference over MCA graduates, and as Mr. Zero said its the college that matters the most. An MCA from a Central university carries more weightage than a BTech from any institute other than the IITs. Even the growing companies now a days are looking at EAMCET ranks and colleges while recruiting freshers..

http://www.hindu.com/2005/07/28/stories/2005072801620200.htm I can't see Rs 15,000/- fees Govt seat Rs.8500/- and private seat Rs.22,500/-, I can see a considerable difference ( it's close to 3 times) don't know whether you can... Girls can get a govt seat up to a rank of 5000+

Sneha garu, If you go through my article what I am trying to show is your initial statement of person getting 2000 rank and 20,000 rank has the same caliber isn't true and generally merit is not measured on calibers, propabilities and other factors(tensions, headaches,psychological conditions, starting times, road conditions to exam centre, graha balas....) , end of the day it's what you have delivered is what that matters, people can't justify themselves and get a seat by even after failing a subject by a single mark/or missing first class by a one or two marks claiming that they have caliber but some tension/psycological conditions, starting times, roads, summer heat ...made them fail/secure second class , that's all irrelevant and it's pass or fail, first or second that matters..and everybody doesn't spend large amounts of money on Eamcet longterm coaching, if they have the money to spend they will spend, otherwise they will prepare on their own or choose the cheapest one available... I agree with rowdy garu without doubt that he expressed a valid point /** Employers do look at the EAMCET rank while they recruit freshers /** may be not all but majority of employers look at Eamcet, I myslef aware of Indias top 2 IT houses interviews for freshers and Eamcet rank is a definite guideline in that... Why do Satyam, Wipro, Infosys,TCS go to REC,IIT, JNTU (university campuses), IIM, XLRA for campus recruitments why don't they go to Dr Ambedkar college or IGNOU...or some abc college in amalapuram/peddapuram, because they know that they have the best EAMCET rankers who are competetive will be joining in these top colleges... the institues which you have studied plays an important role in getting the job in any course whether it's LLB or something else and it's better to realize that If we have couple of very very poor students who got around 50,000 rank who won't get seats here but can join in Karnataka for an annual fee of 32,000/-(donation seats) is it sensible to help them ??? /** engineering graduate is given first preference when compared to M.C.A. or M.Sc. graduates **/ Depends which college you have graduated from... MCA canditates from decent university campuses like REC,JNTU will be given first prefernce than engineering gradutaes from abc colleges in xyz villages
