Bhagawan mentions time and again that the "End of Education is Character". Keeping in view that most of the colleges offer
education for literacy alone and not for Character building, the "Sri Sathya Sai Free Tutorials" vision is to impart education with an end goal of building Character in the Student.
This is an integrated approach of imparting education while also developing the inner strengths of a student towards becoming a
better citizen, a better person, a better parent, a better professional.
This vision also falls in line with swami's
quote "Education is for life not for Living".
With the Divine Blessings of our Beloved Bhagawan, Free Tutorials were conducted for financially deprived B'Com First year students (35 in count) the last year(2004). The institute also catered to the
professional needs of the students, by giving proper career guidance, improving the candidates interviewing skills, presentation
skills, team management skills etc. When the report was submitted to Swami, he was extremely pleased with the activity and blessed it profusely.
Our Brothers Vijay and Nagaraju with the help of Sri Hariharan and Sri Prasad were successful in conducting this activity
last year.
Time is ripe to take up this task again. In-depth analysis was done on the feedback received from students, faculty and others on
last year's program and improvements have been made.
The ground work for the activity this year began 15-20 days back and the same team ( from last year) has been working on this project on the following:
1. Visiting colleges to meet the lecturers to check if they can be
part of the activity
2. Preparing required classroom material
There was good response from Aurora Degree College where few lecturers have come forward to participate in the activity.
Following are some of the key points about the activity this year:
a) Classes would be conducted for Second year B.com Students Only.
b) Classes would begin on 04-August-2005.
c) Registration would happen from 21-July
d) Exam would be conducted on 30-July and 31-July
e) Screening would be done on 2-Aug and 3-Aug
f) About 10-15 students who have studied in the previous year would
be enrolled for the classes
g) Total of 35 students will be enrolled this year too
Campaigning:
a) About 15 colleges would be visited by two different teams to do
campaigning for the students to enroll
- Information to be put up on notice boards
- Announcements to be made in the Class rooms
- Request letter to be given to Principals
b) Press Release would also be given
c) In Corporate offices pamphlets would be put-up on the notice
boards(with prior permission)
d) Announcements would be made in all the zones and in Shivam
regularly
Swami, Pray this activity be successful, gain value in the student
community, last but not the least contribute its drop in the Service
Ocean.
