General Forum: Religion | Why god's colour is blue? | |
| So water is not blue as mentioned by JP.
Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 20, Oct 2005 11:31:04 PM IST Why sea / ocean is blue(except our east & west coast)???
Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 13, Oct 2005 10:26:06 PM IST Blue colour signifies infinity such as sky and sea and as such god - who is also infinite by nature is coloured blue
Posted by: Mr. jogarao pilla At: 9, Oct 2005 10:50:37 AM IST Another thing that strikes my mind is God is mostly painted with a crown . Crowns are made of gold ,and gold has to glitter ,and logically speaking the bigger the crown the better the respect . so there has to be a contrast with the colours ,something dark ,but not too dark ,may be thats why the body is given blue colour .

Thats fine in english ,but ,is there any justification when it comes to indian languages ?blue isnt blue in telugu or tamil .
Posted by: Mr. Pit and the Pendulum At: 29, Jul 2005 10:16:33 PM IST Definitely it is imagination of different types of devotees as well as the kings who had encouraged these artists to prove their talent in their fields.
And the fantacy and imagination of true devotees certainly mesmerised people.
Pls dont differentiate colours .Every colour has its own importance.
Posted by: Mrs. shaloo At: 29, Jul 2005 5:47:47 PM IST Since god is different he cannot be given same colour as humans, so to make a clear distinction, probably the god's colour has been blue. Dark(Black) can only be attributed to demons.
Posted by: DoBoy At: 28, Jul 2005 2:55:16 PM IST Yes. All the definitions are so far good. Do you all mean to say there is no meaning for particular color being attributed to HIM? Is it just the imagination and fascination of the devotees?!?

Posted by: SATYA RAMA PRASAD KALLURI At: 27, Jul 2005 10:57:02 PM IST God's colour ?
The colour of God is given, by a devotee,a painter and a poet, which is a personal imagination.
Some devotees, painters and poets even imagine God in golden, fair colours.
Coming to idols in temples in India , towards south we find Gods in black because of the availability of black stone in south and towards north white idols because of availiability of marble stone there.
These are simple logics because it is our own description of God.
