Coming to Performance of any crickter is considered with match fixing or without match fixing ?
Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 24, Aug 2005 10:19:22 PM IST Ganguly has been the Best Captain ever for India and the Most Successful Captain too ..
He wa the one who rose above the Regional feelings and picked up people like Sehwag, Harbhajan, Zaheer and Nehra - he never tried to unnecessarily pull Bengali Players in.
He was the one who boosted the morale of the team every time when it was down.
He is the one who has brought the Killer Instinct into the team ..
He Sactified his Opener slot for Tendulkar for the sake of the team at the expense of his own batting statistics in the one-dayers
To hell with those former cricketers .. I would like to know how many of them performed better than Ganguly!
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 24, Aug 2005 1:56:41 PM IST gaguly is beter captain in any aspect compared to dravid. May b he is not in form now, but he has beter capabilties to lead a team.
Posted by: Suneel At: 24, Aug 2005 1:36:41 PM IST rahul was dropped agreed but the way he is playing now naturally he has to selected not like on sheer captainship u should be in the team the capitain should be role model for the team
Posted by: Mr. venkata nalinidhar vajjha At: 24, Aug 2005 12:47:18 PM IST yes now cricket has become politics because its richness and the baord is dominated by the north indian so naturally a calibre like rahul is side lined c the world XI vice capitain is rahul thats is class and this dadas dadagiri is going 2 much lets c how he manage this serious other wise his place in the team will also be doubtful lol
Posted by: Mr. venkata nalinidhar vajjha At: 24, Aug 2005 12:44:34 PM IST What about Rahul's history and howmany times he was dropped from the matches? Now he is challenging captancy?
Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 22, Aug 2005 11:07:20 PM IST now Zaheer khan is Man of the series in Afro-Asian cup.. and our selectors didnt selected him into one day team..
even for L.Balaji..its unfair..for not taking him into one day team..
donnow on what basis they had selected Agarkar into the team??
Posted by: Mr. SiriVennela At: 22, Aug 2005 10:46:53 PM IST Board is playing politics ?
Board is supposed to play games.
Those who favour Rahul disagree with Ganguly captency and vice versa. It's purely commercial. It's either Olympics or Asiad. What is here to discuss.
We request center not to waste their time with commercial players and artists. They have remuneration and highly paid. Center and states to recoginize/reward the poor and the talented.
Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 22, Aug 2005 10:35:51 PM IST The Indian cricket board has come in for fire from former cricketers after virtually “snatching” the captaincy from Rahul Dravid and handing it over to out-of-form Sourav Ganguly for the tour of Zimbabwe. Legendary all-rounder, and former captain Kapil Dev, former opener Chetan Chauhan, ex-coach Ajit Wadekar sensed involvement of politics in the selection. "The captaincy selection was definitely not unanimous. Had everyone agreed to reinstating Sourav as skipper, the selection meeting would have ended in five minutes, and not two hours,” said Chauhan . “The selectors have put cricketers in an embarrassing situation. They should have persisted with Sourav as the captain. Rahul should have taken charge as a vice-captain performing his duties in the absence of the skipper. Once the ban was lifted, Sourav could have easily crept in.” Wadekar said it was a blunder on part of the national selectors, and must have been terribly demoralising and embarrassing for Rahul. Chauhan expressed similar opinion. “The selectors made two mistakes. First, they should not have made Ganguly the 16th man for the Sri Lanka tour. He should have been named captain. Rahul could have performed the captaincy duties as vice-captain. Second, Rahul should not have been judged on the basis of just one series. Once he was made captain, they should have given him time to prove himself” argues Chauhan. Comment.
