| True sir .We are unable to differentiate standard of living from standard of life.

Once upon a time, we had reasonably good
'standard of living' as well as 'standard of life'. Later we were under foreigners' rule. Then, for some time our 'standard of life' was in tact, but 'standard of living' suffered. For the foreigners, only 'materialism' is of paramount importance.
Once we have noticed (and some of us tasted) the 'fruits of materialism' we have totally forgotten the meaning of 'standard of life'. We are now only after 'standard of living' in the stricter sense. Then, resources are limited in our country and our wants are becoming many. We have started thinking that our lives are wasteful without 'status symbols'. Hence all this mad race for 'money collection' and 'show-off'. (None of these black-moneyed people' are really happy. Others are thinking that they are happy and hence are aping them.) Otherwise what is the meaning of this 'small-mindedness' of these 'supposedly educated & enlightened' people?

There is nothing new in this.But we cannot just simply leave/ignore illegal acts because oneday it may come to our threshold.

THIS IS 17/SEP/2005 NEWS:-
Some people in SAINIKFARMS , the hangout of the rich/influentials in Delhi, simply prefer to tap main line(electricity) and help themselves to some free power..
An investigation team spoted a bungalow(usually surrounded by highwalls,guarded by dogs/security guards)and somehow managed to get into it.Bungalow belongs to kohli's. The team found 10 airconditioners(in bathrooms also)sixgeysers,two refrigerators 96 lamps but NO POWER METER.The team saw a underground cable through the garden patch to the mainline.Not only Kohlis but they found in few houses , nearly 3000kw theft.
And it is common man who is paying for the theft.

Here the question is not how he become rich.
we have seen many illegal huts and houses and the current supply to those places is also illegal.But the entire consumption of current by those people may not be 1/4 of these rich people's theft.
Then why we blame others at one's own faults.
Where is the end for all these illegal acts?
