Year 1 AD started on a Saturday and when you calculate the number days in a century and then try to find out the starting day of the next year, it woudl come out that the looping is confined to 4 days a week, leaving out the days mentioed by Cluey

Any and only a leap year Starting on a Sunday (Which makes Feb 1 fall on a Wednesday) will have this happening ... Running a quick search I found 1956 after 1928 and 1888 before that

The answer from the book to the snake puzzle is as follows: We cannot say how much of each snake must be swallowed before a vital organ is sufficiently affected to cause death. But we can say what will NOT happen-that the snakes will go on swallowing one another until both disappear altogether! But where it will really end is impossible to say.

It's like this .. As the Snakes keep swallowing the bodies, the Heads move towards the center of the circle and when they reach the centre of the circle they obstruct each other's movement and get deadlocked at the centre, with the exposed parts of the trunks accommodating the coiled parts!

Well I have assumed that the bodies are flexible enough to accommodate any number of coils ( If not, then the process would stop half way at each of the snakes having half of his body swallowed) ... When I said deadlocked i meant the heads would get deadlocked with the trunks extending .. something like ... --> | | <--

2. Right - hehe :D 1. Can the heads get deadlocked? What happenes to the bodies then? They cant disappear right?

1. The heads get deadlocked 2. Hehehehehehehehe! Unless Cluey is the God, it is impossible for him to know what Peter was dreaming, for he fell dead before he could tall anyone about his dream :))

I checked the answer for the 12.50 train problem, but couldnt really get it! It said - the cook said it was an awkward time because it would be 10 to 1 if you catch it! Any enlightenment on the above? :-)
