Paheli represents Indian culture, ethos, myths and beliefs. It's based on Rajasthan writer novel, breath taking photography of ravichandran.

India's official entry for the 2006 Oscars.
The other frontrunners it beat included Bollywood hits such as Page 3, Black, Veer-Zaara,Swades,Parineeta and Mangal Pandey: The Rising,Iqbaal etc
