| I partially agree with you, but I don't say if a player fails in one tour, we need to remove him for the next tour. Board should give him ample time say minimum 3 tours, so that they can know the exact strengths of that player.
In Ganguly's case they have given more and more chances. Thats not good. He should have been removed from the team an year ago.
The bad thing for Indian cricket team is politics as you mentioned. As long as there is support for a player from the Board he will go on even though he doesn't play well.
On the other hand, young talented players are not getting chances. Even though they get selected for a tour, they are sticking to dressing room and for the next tour he will not be there and will not be selected for ever.
I feel, cricket Board of India should be revamped. Zonal system should be deleted. Choose good representatives for the Board. This way we can expect some good cricket from Indian team :)

tell me your thoughts about Indian cricket team, as per my understanding if the player is not going to play well, the selectors should take off from the team, either he is captian or best batsmen or best bowler (in the past). The team winning is important for me. Because at the end of the every trip, India :-((
