May be the money taken via "Operation Duryodhan" by the alleged Members of Parliament was to be spent for any good cause.Who knows? ___________________________________________ You have a very good sense of humor .. hehehe! -------------------------------------------- I also would like to tell you that Journalists are also taking money or bribes from politicians to cover their news. They should write the facts and should not bend for money _____________________________________________ Absolutely right. Journalists are as corrupt as politicians! Politicans corrupt the system and journos corrupt the gullible minds Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 13, Dec 2005 5:16:35 PM IST ... I agree Malakji, //Absolutely right. Journalists are as corrupt as politicians! Politicans corrupt the system and journos corrupt the gullible minds. Yes. There is corruption among Journs. But corruption by Journs is different from that of Politicians. One corrupted act done by Journalist is unethical, and if the same is done by MP is crime against the trust of People who voted them to power. Morever, the MP elected could spoil total system. But the corrupted Journalist just can't sustain in the profession, but a politician can continue...if undetected, highlighted and punished. Crime at the government level is more serious than the crime by other people. pedda chEpalu pedda pedda avinItinE chEstAyi..kAraNam , vATi chetilO adhikAram unTundi... Thanks Vachaspathi gaaru. I am glad to know that you are already probing through the practical aspects of Dr. Kalam's suggestion. I will look forward to read your article. Posted by: Dr. Suryadev Suryadevara At: 29, Dec 2005 7:49:39 PM IST ... Dr. Suryadev Suryadevara, Creating Data Base for each and every citizen is not easy, I think. Even Data Collection will take years to complete. It must be long term goal, but one need to search for immediate alternatives. Lack of Proper Leadership qualities among leaders of Indian polity is the main reason for corruption at all levels. I highlighted this in my article. (I sent it yesterday, it may appear may be tomorrow or day after tomorrow in Andhra Prabha)

Dr. Suryadev Suryadevara.. I agree with you. But even the implementation of Kalam's suggestion is in the hand's of Parliament Act as it touches the Peoples Representation Act. The Act to be amended to implement Kalam's advise. On this issue I wrote an article, it may get published soon, may be in this week. Please do read Andhra Prabha and find my article in Editorial Page. I expect your suggestions and opinions on my article.

I too agree with Keerty's point. In fact the M.P who made such statement about 5 lacks should also be recalled. Corruption should not be tolerated despite how much if one takes. Vachaspathi gaaru, I was told that there are a few MLA's in our state who don't hesitate to accept even a few hundred rupees! Dismissing those exposed MP's is a good move. Whereas, it is not appropriate to think that this will end the problem. Now this is the time to work at the root level. As suggested by our president Dr. A P J Kalam we need to computerize the citizen's data and the propaganda of election candidates should be done with the EC's expenses. Reservations in constituencies should be abolished. To offer selfless service there shouldn’t be any physical barriers. Doing this will improve the situation. I like the American type democracy over current British system. However, there is no perfect system unless our communities grow by proper education.
