Thanks for sharing this interesting info with us Hyderabadi gaaru.. you're right about Ghulam ji's name not being mentioned with this movie. But, it is weird that these songs seem like they have a typical Naushad ji's music!!!

During the making of the film, composer Ghulam Mohammed and cinematographer Josef Wirsching died leaving director Kamal Amrohi at a loss. Eventually though composer Naushad was brought in to compose the background score (this was his ONLY contribution to the film - despite consistent rumors to the contrary, he did not compose any songs for the film);

Ghulam Mohammed was the original composer of all 12 tunes of pakheeza but he died during the long journey of movie (1958-1971).most of the distributors and financiers forced amrohi(director&producer) to replace with trendy music, but he could not betray a dead man who had given him twelve beautiful songs. In keeping with the times, though, he kept only six songs in the film. Naushad was selected for background music because this story based on Luck now, he belongs to that place. Vinayakam gaaru & Manoo gaaru, I recently found out that Pakeezah also had music by Ghulam Mohammed ji!! it was not exclusively by Naushad ji and am not sure who did what..

He was the first person combined the flute and the clarinet, the sitar and mandolin also introduced the accordion and Indian classic music in Hindi films Never used the electronic instruments in his films
