Guntur was once the capital of A.P. Amaravathi in present guntur Dt was once the Dhanyakatakam of Nagarjuna was also the capital of A.P. Once the Telengana is formed we must insist for Guntur to be the capital of A.P. and not Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam etc.

When Gandhiji initiated the Salt Satyagraha, it was the people at guntur who first declared their support for it. In fact, in the entire Andhra Pradesh, it was people from guntur who responded first, and started the salt satyagraha movement in AP. To be more specific, the movement started in brodipet of guntur.
