This is not correct,
What is the basis for this stmt to compare.
look at different categories in india, with different life style. u found Women more Independent than any one in the world

i agree...actually people talk about all this but unfortunately sometimes they fail to implement it within their own homes...like with their own daughters and perhaps sisters. maybe if we started this change with our generation and our children things will change over a period of time. it always takes time for things to change but the change must be initiated.

it would be great if the people could suggest some solutions rather than discussing about the problem again and again.
I personally feel that parents should take the initiative to take away the restrictions imposed on girls.and should also make them feel free by defining exactly about the freedom so that no misinterpretations can come across.

Yes,we should agree with some of the facts like people not preferring to mouth the cirmes commited against them fearing about the society.
One more fact that I have observed here in USA is the huge divorce rate.I mean people get divorced when they feel that they can't live together any more.But in India,if a woman wants to take divorce from her husband and go away,then the very first protest might come from her parents itself.And you know about the community in which she lives...

Hi all,
definatly women in foreign countries is more independent but this won't apply to all countries ... the middle east countries (i think they're also foreign countries) and worst than India , only in DEVELOPED countries women gets more freedom and i think India is still a developing country .
but first of all lets try to define Freedom for women ... what it means does it means to going to shopping alone or traveling to places to alone or does it means going on roads in the mid night... in my point of view all those won't reflect freedom coz even if a man goes alone in the night he'll be attacked ....
In my point of view freedom is respecting women's feelings and her views which unfotunatly most of the men won't do coz of Ego .... and i strongly oppose someone's comments saying that only in posh colony's women gets lot of freedom nope this is wrong ... it depends the people around u if the people around u are matured enough then women will enough freedom and if the people around u are educated then u'll get freedom, and mainly if women knows her rights then she'll get freedom and all women should reliase it's some thing which someone is going to give rather it's something which u've to achive . women in US gets lot of freedom coz they know there rights and they're financially independent ...
so lets hope Indian women come out from the barriers

Actually she may staying in some posh city.but go to villages and small towns.there is still so many brutal things happening to women.Recently i read one articel in Vaartha paper.
In some village in andhra it happend recently.
ok mahanubavudu tana wife ki alandu sita ki ramadu agni pariksha pettnatlu tani wife silanni sankinchi marugutunna nuneylo cheyi pettinchadu.and for this the village so called peddalu kuda supported.ilantivi roju yenno yenneno.
i respect indian culture.but some things r not good also.
kani ippudu koncham marpu vastundi...
alanani magavalley cheddavallu kadu.alanti adavallu kuda vunnaru.yentho mandi boy friends (dabbunna) tho tirigey vallu vunnaru.mukyam ga cities lo.eedi pedda topic .dini gurichi chala vundi cheppalantey..
